Ramon Sinkeldam - The Dutch connexion in a French team
Although his sporting career remains his priority, Ramon will be involved in the promotion of the brand and will contribute to Lapierre's development in Netherlands. What a pleasure for Lapierre to work with a true athlete, but also a great person !
Rider with the Groupama-FDJ cycling team for 4 years now, Ramon is one of the strong men of the World Tour team. After starting his career in cyclo-cross, Ramon turned to road cycling with success. After 7 professional wins, the rider was crowned Dutch Champion in 2017 which allowed him to wear the national jersey in the biggest races in the world, including the Tour de France. Today he is one of the strongest men in Arnaud Demarre's train, he contributes to the biggest victories of his leader at Groupama-FDJ, who was in 2020 the most successful rider in the world (14 victories). It’s a pleasure for Lapierre to join forces with an athlete of this talent, but also a pleasant human being with whom we share many values.
A beautiful 2022 program
Ramon will support Arnaud Démarre for most of the 2022 calendar. After beginning the season under the sun of the Middle East, he will head towards Italy for Tireno-Adrietico. After that he will ride in some of the Belgian classics that Ramon likes very much, with his big objectif for the first part of the season the Giro d'Italia. The goal is to bring back some nice stage wins, and why not a classification jersey!
No races without bikes
For races, Ramon uses the Aircode DRS on flat and fast courses, and the Xelius SL on hilly terrains. For training, he often rides off-road : the Lapierre ProRace SAT 9.9 mountain bike will be used for beach races, and the Lapierre Zesty AM 9.9 mountain bike for bigger days in the hills.
Lapierre and Groupama-FDJ, a long story
In 2002, Lapierre became an official partner of Team Groupama-FDJ. Ever since then, the partnership has been beneficial for both sides, ensuring all high end Lapierre road products are developed by our engineers in collaboration with the pro riders, continually pushing forward in their quest for perfection.
